Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer of GE Real Estate, Stewart Koenigsberg is responsible for managing the financial risks of one of the world’s largest and most diverse real estate investors. For this company with a portfolio valued at approximately $72 billion, Stewart’s significant experience and analytical skills help it balance its exposure to a wide variety of risks, including interest rate movements, currency fluctuations, changing creditworthiness of borrowers and operational risks.

Prior to assuming his current position in 2001, Stewart served in variety of senior leadership positions with GE, most recently as Managing Director in charge of originations at GE Capital Market Services. He has been manager of finance, EVP Office; manager of financial planning and analysis for the CEO’s office, focusing on strategic acquisitions and divestitures; and Chief Investment Officer at GE Mortgage Insurance.

Before joining GE in 1989, Stewart spent eight years as a senior manager in Arthur Andersen’s Financial Services practice, advising investment banks and commercial banks on acquisitions and work-outs of their problem loan portfolios.

A Certified Public Accountant, Stewart earned his BS from the City University of New York.
